OREANDA-NEWS. September 06, 2016. SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev visited Georgia and together with the Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze attended the opening of new gas distributing network with 259 subscribers in Gyrkhily village of Marneuli municipality, densely populated by Azerbaijanis.

It was informed that nearby Kvemo Kulari village with 137 potential subscribers will also join the network soon. SOCAR president learned that so far new gas lines of 1027 km have been constructed for gasification of 26837 users in Kvemo Kartli region densely-populated by Azerbaijanis, and by the end of the year the gas lines will be extended 158 km to supply 3500 subscribers more. SOCAR Georgia Gas has constructed 5360-km gas lines so far to supply 209136 users and plans to complete construction of 1600-km gas lines for 40000 potential subscribers by the end of 2016. SOCAR president and Georgian minister visited Marneuli city too.

During the meeting with the local residents, it was reminded that President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev donated 10 field-engines to the region this year to support the development of agriculture here. Today, 8 different “Belarus” field-engines and their aggregates have been delivered to the Georgian government.
