OREANDA-NEWS. The national team of ROSATOM won 6 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medal at the world skills championship WorldSkills Hi-Tech 2016, which was completed on November 3 in Yekaterinburg.

This year, ROSATOM expanded the number of competences up to 10 from 8 and won the medal place in each of them to be the leader in the team scoring. The teams sent to the championship 103 people who included key staff and reserve, as well as tutors. Twenty three sectoral experts were invited; they have related certificates to the WorldSkills. They were invited by the championship organizers, WordSkills Russia Union, to judge as independent experts.

“To continue leading in the world market of nuclear power, we must be leaders in everything: in the management system, reporting system or staff training system. It is the highly skilled workers and engineers who are able to ensure the long-term success and development to ROSATOM and this country as a whole,” said ROSATOM’s CEO Alexey Likhachev. “Today, the trades are becoming more complex, respectful and prestigious. Nuclear sector means high-technology equipment and we need the best people to serve, develop and create these technologies,” he said.

Eduard Shevchenko of ZiO-Podolsk (a works of Atomenergomash Group of Companies) won a silver medal in the competence “CNC Milling”. Dmitry Kovalenko, who represented a branch of AEM-technology, Petrozavodskmash, won a bronze medal in the competence “CNC Turning”. Sergey Sychugov of the Urals Gas Centrifuges Plant (Fuel Company of ROSATOM TVEL) won a gold medal in the competence “Electronics”. Alexander Golovanov of OKBM Afrikantov (a works of Atomenergomash Group of Companies) won a gold medal in the competence “CAD Engineering Graphics”. Yegor Usoltsev and Salavat Yusupov of PA Mayak (a part of ROSATOM’s division, Nuclear Weapons Complex) won gold prizes in the competence “Mechatronics”. Vladimir Yesenin on JSC GreenAtom won a silver medal in the competence “Network and System Administration”. Mikhail Denisov of RFNC VNIIEF (Nuclear Weapons Complex) won a gold medal in the competence “Electric Installation”. Anton Sankov, who represented Rosenergoatom’s Atomtekhenergo, won a silver medal in the competence “Industrial Automation”. Anastasia Terekhovich of Mashinostroitelny Zavod (Fuel Company of ROSATOM TVEL) won a gold medal in the competence “Laboratory Chemical Analysis”. She also won the special nomination “Lady Profy”. Dmitry Kucheryavin, an employee of SAEM-technology Atommash, won a gold medal in the competence “Welding”.
