In June 2016, Atomstroyexport JSC has commissioned a full-scale simulator for Units 3 & 4 of Tianwan NPP
OREANDA-NEWS. In June 2016, Atomstroyexport JSC (ASE JSC) has commissioned a full-scale simulator for Units 3 & 4 of Tianwan NPP (TNPP), which replicates the NPP main control room to the full extent. The full-scale simulator (FSS) is designed for Chinese operators’ training.
Due to requirements of Chinese supervising authorities, training of operating personnel of TNPP second stage shall start well in advance of real power unit readiness. ASE JSC fulfilled its contractual obligations related to the FSS commissioning 15 months prior to the first fuel loading. Based on the schedule, fuel shall be loaded into Unit 3 in the end of August 2017.
According to ASE Director for Chinese projects, Mr. A. Bannik: “Fuel loading into the reactor is one of the most important and responsible phases of NPP construction. To obtain a permit for loading, a range of preparatory measures shall be taken, including training of the operating personnel. Now the full-scale simulator (FSS) serves this purpose at the NPP. One can practice the unit approaching minimum controlled reactor power (MCRP), unit power ascension, power reduction, shutdown and personnel’s actions in case of an emergency in the conditions which are as close to the reality as possible.”
The second stage of TNPP (Units 3 & 4) are unique because this is the first time when an overseas project of ASE JSC applies the Russian reactor plant in combination with the half-speed turbine produced in China. The simulator put in operation by ASE JSC fully models the control of power unit being a part of Tianwan NPP.
ASE Group of Companies was established within the framework of founding the engineering division of Rosatom State Corporation by merging the leading companies in the industry: NIAEP JSC, ASE JSC, Atomenergorpekt JSC and Atomproekt JSC.
ASE Company is one of the leaders in global nuclear engineering business and accounts for more than 30% of the global NPP construction market.
Company’s representative and operation offices act on the territory of 15 countries, almost 80% of its stock of orders is overseas projects. Besides, the company implements projects of construction of facilities for RW and SNF treatment, heat and power engineering facilities and provides a comprehensive range of EPC, EPC(m) and PMC services for any complex engineering facilities. ASE Company is a developer and it is actively integrating innovative project management system for complex engineering facilities construction - Multi-D, which allows managing such parameters as time, quality, budget more efficiently. The company is headed by Valery I. Limarenko, Doctor of Economics.
