OREANDA-NEWS. At the training centre in the city of Rostov the Great the competitions of professional skills of crews for repair and maintenance of equipment of 35-110 kV substations of IDGC of Centre started.

12 crews for repair and maintenance of substation equipment will compete for the right to be called the best professionals: one from each region of the company’s service area, plus the crew from the city of Sevastopol. All the participants have already proved their high class, having won awards at the qualifying rounds that took place in each of the branches. Over the next four days they will confirm their level, demonstrating the elegance of skills and coordination of work to the judging committee.

The competition program includes seven stages, which included a number of competitive tasks: repair of a power transformer; repair of a 10 kV vacuum circuit breaker; repair and adjustment of a 110 kV disconnector; repair of a 110 kV current transformer and its recharge with insulating gas; release of the victim (the dummy) from the action of electric current and first aid to the victim; fire fighting; test of knowledge of existing norms, rules and regulations.

"Our employees perform similar tasks in their daily work, both at planned work, and in the aftermath of bad weather and natural disasters. Power engineers must be prepared to do their job with quality in any situation. At these competitions in a struggle as soon as possible and better to perform the competitive tasks, they will be able to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, to share with each other professional experience and, subsequently, to use it in their current job," explained First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin.

IDGC of Centre employs over 30 thousand people and they all should feel as a united team. This requires a constant exchange of information and good human relations, which are produced at events of professional skills.

"All crews participating in the competition have done a great job in terms of training and practical skills. All this, of course, will affect their qualification, will improve the quality of service of substation equipment and, ultimately, provide reliable power supply to our customers," stressed Deputy General Director - Director of the branch "Yarenergo" Alexander Kornilov.

The competing participants themselves praised the overall level of training and set their sights on tough competition:

"Today here the best of the best from more than a dozen regions have gathered. We understand that the fight will not be easy, and the competition will be very intense. But we are ready, we studied the rules and regulations, conducted workshops and now will try to show all that we can. We will fight for victory," showed optimism members of the team hosting the competitions.

The crew consists of master Alexander Ushakov, electricians Andrey Kurochkin, Ilya Kruglov, Anton Paramonov and Sergey Gurov. All of them are characterized by high competence, efficiency, ability to perform production tasks of any complexity and the ability to work in a team.
