OREANDA-NEWS. A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Dusan Bajatovic, Director General of Srbijagas, took place today in St. Petersburg.

The parties addressed current and future bilateral cooperation, focusing in particular on the deliveries and underground storage of Russian gas in Serbia.

The parties commended the termination of gas injection into the Banatski Dvor UGS facility (with a working gas capacity of 450 million cubic meters) ahead of the autumn/winter period, which might additionally guarantee that the upcoming heating season would run smoothly in the Balkan region.

State-owned Srbijagas is focused on gas transportation, storage and distribution in Serbia.

In 2013, a long-term contract was inked for Russian gas supplies to Serbia for the period of 10 years. In 2015, Gazprom delivered 1.7 billion cubic meters of gas to Serbia, which was 23.6 per cent higher than in 2014. As of October 2, 2016, Russian gas supplies to Serbia have grown by 6.8 per cent against 2015.
