OREANDA-NEWSRussia confirmed to Belarus the supply of 1.13 million tons of oil in May, in April, the volume of supplies amounted to 1.56 million tons. This was announced on Wednesday by the press secretary of the Belarusian state concern Belneftekhim Alexander Tishchenko.

“In April, Belarus, as planned, received about 2 million tons of oil, of which 1.56 million tons are Russian deliveries by pipe and rail. The rest is tanker deliveries and own production”, he said. “There are plans for May deliveries from Russia were confirmed at 1.13 million tons. Work with alternative sources will continue". According to him, the supply volumes will be determined on the basis of the domestic and foreign markets.

Since January 1, 2020, Belarus has not had long-term contracts with large Russian companies for the supply of oil through the Druzhba pipeline due to a dispute over the size of the premium to the duty-free price of oil. The supply of raw materials to the Belarusian refineries was continued only by the Safmar group of companies Mikhail Gutseriev. Therefore, the country began to buy tanker oil from alternative suppliers through Lithuania and Ukraine.

Earlier, the indicative balance of oil supplies from Russia to Belarus for 2020 was agreed at 24 million tons.
