OREANDA-NEWS. Russian energy corporation Gazprom and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) are planning a preventive suspension of the gas pipeline Power of Siberia in the second half of March. RIA Novosti news agency reports that the two entities are finalizing the exact dates for scheduled works on Power of Siberia. The parties agreed to carry out scheduled maintenance of gas pipeline equipment twice a year: in spring and autumn.

The document signed in 2014 for 30 next years provides an annual supply of up to 38 billion cubic meters of Russian gas to China. Delivery of fuel via Power of Siberia began on December 2, 2019. The pipeline is intended to supply gas from the production centers in Irkutsk and Yakutsk to Primorsky Krai and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. Its length is more than 2 thousand kilometers.
