OREANDA-NEWSGazprom has completed the process of filling the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. Gas from the Chayandinskoye field in Yakutia was brought to the border gas metering station in the Blagoveshchensk area. This was said in a statement. "Thus, the linear part of the pipeline is prepared for the start of pipeline deliveries of Russian gas to China", the report said. The next stage is filling the cross-border crossing through the Amur River with gas.

In late August, Gazprom connected the Chayandinskoye field to the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. Gas from this project, as well as Kovyktinsky in the Irkutsk region, will be supplied both to the domestic Russian market and for export to China. The gas supply project to eastern China is also called the eastern route. The head of Gazprom Alexei Miller said earlier that the construction of the project is ahead of schedule, so deliveries to China through the northern section of Heihe-Chanlin will begin ahead of schedule - from December 1, 2019.

In 2015, Gazprom and CNPC signed an agreement on the basic conditions for pipeline gas supplies from Western Siberian fields to China along the "western" route (via the Power of Siberia-2 gas pipeline) and a memorandum of understanding on the project for pipeline natural gas supplies to China with Far East of Russia.
