OREANDA-NEWS After the suspension of direct supplies from Russia due to the refusal to pay under the new scheme, Russian fuel goes to Poland by reverse from Germany via the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline, Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov told reporters, quoted by Russian media TASS.

According to Kupriyanov, the volume of the reverse is about 30 million cubic meters per day. Gazprom Export sent a notification to Bulgargaz (Bulgaria) and PGNiG (Poland) on the eve of the suspension of gas supplies from April 27 until the moment of payment for fuel in rubles. The exporter did not receive payments for gas supplies in April from these companies in rubles, although they were promptly informed of the need for such settlements.

Earlier it was reported that Gazprom's major customers have not yet switched to a new payment scheme in Russian rubles, Reuters reports, citing sources. According to the publication, only five small traders agreed to the changed conditions.

Sources of the media note that several traders still started payments. According to the interlocutors of the publication, there may be more than five of them. Reuters also reports, citing sources, that the Italian energy group Eni (ENI.MI) has not yet made a decision on the payment scheme, as it is waiting for clarity in the EU document on sanctions. The publication notes that Uniper (UN01.DE), the main importer of Russian gas to Germany, also stated that no decision had been made.
