OREANDA-NEWS. As RIA Novosti reports with reference to the widespread statement, the German regulator of the Nord Stream 2 project - the Federal Office of Maritime Shipping and Hydrography of Germany - has extended the permit for pipe-laying work for Nord Stream 2 until May.

As stated in the press release circulated, “the Federal Office of Maritime Shipping and Hydrography has issued Nord Stream 2 permission to carry out pipe-laying work to complete the Nord Stream 2 pipeline in the German Exclusive Economic Zone in a section of approximately 16.5 and 13.9 kilometers in the time interval between the end of September and the end of May ".

Nord Stream 2 AG, the operator of the Nord Stream 2 project, plans to resume laying the gas pipeline in Danish waters from today. This follows from the schedule that Nord Stream 2 AG handed over to the Danish authorities. It states that construction will start on January 15th.

Radio Sputnik reported on Friday morning that the Fortuna pipelayer had stopped at a German port.

The ship Fortuna is expected to lay pipes in Danish waters. In December, it completed the construction of a section in German waters, and earlier this week left the port of Wismar and headed east. Last night, the pipelayer pointed to a new destination - the German port of Rostock - and anchored just before reaching it.
