OREANDA-NEWSHearings on the Naftogaz Ukrainy’s arrest of Gazprom’s assets in the Netherlands are scheduled for December, the Russian gas holding’s report said. On June 5, 2018, it became known that Naftogaz of Ukraine was taking actions to seize the holding's assets in the Netherlands. In particular, on May 30, 2018, the Amsterdam District Court seized the shares of BSPC owned by PJSC Gazprom, the operator of the Blue Stream gas pipeline, as well as the repayment of the debt of the Dutch companies of the group to PJSC Gazprom (the funds remain at the disposal of these companies )

In the Netherlands, Naftogaz of Ukraine September 17, 2018 filed a motion for the recognition and enforcement of an arbitration award in a transit case. Hearings in this case are scheduled for December 2019. In addition, on February 15, 2019, Naftogaz of Ukraine sent a notification to the Luxembourg divisions of the largest banks and Gaz Capital on the arrest of any Gazprom debt and assets in Luxembourg. On April 15, 2019, Gazprom, in order to protect its rights, filed a lawsuit with the Luxembourg court challenging the arrest and entering the process.

In December 2017 and February 2018, the Stockholm arbitration court ruled on disputes between Gazprom and Naftogaz on gas supplies to Ukraine and its transit through the country, obliging the Russian company to pay Ukrainian $ 2.56 billion to Gazprom. These decisions appealed. Svea County Court of Appeal in Sweden sets up Gazprom appeal hearing in October 2019.

Last summer, the Ukrainian oil and gas company initiated a process to recover funds by seizing the assets of a Russian holding in Switzerland, the UK and the Netherlands. The Swedish Court of Appeal of Svea County suspended the execution of the Stockholm arbitration award, but this measure was later canceled. Naftogaz said it would continue to seek the seizure of Gazprom’s assets.
