OREANDA-NEWS The statements of the Russian company Gazprom regarding the reduction of gas supplies are far-fetched and needed only to raise prices, German Vice-Chancellor Robert Habek said, TASS reports.

According to him, the missing volumes are still available on the market. However, prices have already gone up. Therefore, the current situation shows the importance of saving energy.

He added that the storage facilities are now being filled. However, the current situation is under control and in contact with the crisis management structures. In addition, Germany can resort to state support measures if necessary.

Earlier, the Russian energy company Gazprom reduced the pumping of gas through the Nord Stream to 67 million cubic meters of gas per day - explaining this by the fact that another Siemens gas turbine engine at the Portovaya compressor station has been suspended. This is the station through which Nord Stream gas flows from Russia to Europe.
