OREANDA-NEWS. Inspections organized after the tragedy at Listvyazhnaya in the Belovsky city district of the Kemerovo region revealed 449 violations in other mines in the region. This was announced on Monday, November 29, by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation. «180 cases of administrative offenses have been initiated», the department said. A total of 31 mines were inspected.

Among the violations are the lack of modernization of the positioning systems of miners and transport, understaffing of personnel, a non-functioning system for delivering people to sites, inconsistency of production schemes.

In addition, safety briefings were not conducted in a number of places, miners were not provided with personal protective equipment and overalls, the work and rest regime was not observed. Electrical wiring malfunction was detected, as well as inconsistency of fire evacuation plans. A criminal case of negligence has been initiated, the accused have been taken into custody.

On the morning of November 25, a fire broke out at the Listvyazhnaya coal mine in the Belovsky city district of the Kemerovo region. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, 285 miners were there at that time. Rostechnadzor reported that an explosion was recorded at the mine in one of the ventilation drifts.

In the case of the miner's deaths, the director of the Listvyazhnaya mine, Sergey Makhrakov, his first deputy, Andrey Molostvov, and the head of the site, Sergey Gerasimenok, were arrested. A case has been initiated under a criminal article on violation of industrial safety requirements, which caused the death of two or more persons by negligence.

Russian media TASS reports the number of victims of the accident at the Listvyazhnaya mine has grown to 92, 35 of them are mountain rescuers. 51 people died: 46 workers and five rescuers.
