OREANDA-NEWS. The Investigative Committee of Russia has announced the detention of Gazprom Gazoraspredelenie Krasnodar CEO Alexei Rudnev and his deputy Alexander Savostyanov on suspicion of large-scale commercial bribery. This was reported on the agency's website.

According to the investigators, the head of Gazprom received bribes from businessmen for connecting residential and commercial real estate to the gas network and for approving the acts of commissioning them (paragraph 8 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Russia). The total sum of the bribes is estimated at 20 million roubles.

Deputy directors of branches of Gazprom gazoraspredelenie Krasnodar in Sochi, Gelendzhik, Anapa and Krasnodar were detained along with Rudnev and his subordinate. The investigation will request that the suspects be arrested.

"Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Krasnodar is part of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz, a subsidiary of Gazprom. It is the largest gas supplier in the region. Last year, its revenues amounted to 6.3 billion roubles, with a profit of 162.65 million. The searches at the company were reported the day before by several sources.

In early November, a court in Blagoveshchensk arrested the head of the Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Department of the Russian Interior Ministry's Amur Region department, who is suspected of taking a large-scale bribe.
