OREANDA-NEWSThe Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan is organizing meetings with local resource holders for the Belarusian side with a view to negotiating possible oil supplies to Belarus. This was announced on Tuesday by the Kazakh Minister of Energy Nurlan Nogaev.

“Our position is to diversify supplies, the ministry is organizing policies in this area. Today, the issue of signing an agreement on cooperation in the field of oil and oil products is being worked out. After signing this agreement, the Belarusian side has the opportunity to purchase oil from us. Today, as a ministry, we are organizing they meet with the resource owners at their request", he said. Nogaev didn't specify which resource holders were negotiating with. "We aren't looking for suppliers - this is a commercial matter", he explained.

As the head of the Ministry of Energy noted, at present, an agreement on oil supplies to Belarus is being approved by state bodies. He also confirmed to reporters that a delegation of the Belneftekhim concern is planning to visit Kazakhstan this week to hold talks on the issue of oil supplies.
