OREANDA-NEWS. Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced on April 10 that the country will reduce oil production by 100 thousand barrels per day. The politician added that he agreed on this decision with US leader Donald Trump.

“I contacted President Trump, and we reached an agreement to reduce production by 100 thousand barrels per day. The United States pledges to further reduce production by 250 thousand barrels per day to help Mexico,” the Mexican leader said at a press conference.

The day before, Mexico proposed to reduce oil production by 100 thousand barrels per day in the next two months as part of a new deal of OPEC+, refusing to reduce it by 400 thousand barrels from the level of October 2018.
