OREANDA-NEWS. The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Belarus said that the country will stop supplying electricity to Ukraine starting from November 18. It is reported by "Interfax".

“Electricity supplies to Ukraine will be terminated from November 18, in accordance with the established procedure for interaction within the framework of contractual relations,” the Belarusian ministry said.

They noted that the possibility of further supplying electricity to Ukraine will be considered by the republic, taking into account the technical capabilities.

The Ministry of Energy of Belarus did not name the reasons for the termination of electricity supplies.

Earlier, the Belarusian department said that the first power unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP) on Wednesday, November 17, was disconnected from the network after the automation was triggered.

“On November 17 at 10.33 the first power unit of the BelNPP was disconnected from the network by the automatic action.
Specialists carry out diagnostics and analysis of the operation of technological systems, ”the Ministry of Energy said in a statement.

It is noted that the radiation background at the nuclear power plant and in the observation area remains normal.
