OREANDA-NEWSConcern Belneftekhim will continue negotiations with Kazakhstan companies on oil supplies. This was reported on Monday in the press service of Belneftekhim.

“In Kazakhstan last week, substantive negotiations were held on oil supplies, meetings were held with representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan and industry companies”, the concern said. “At present, we are continuing negotiations with companies that could become potential oil suppliers for us, we are discussing with them the volumes and logistics of deliveries are determined with the format of cooperation".

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, amid disagreements with Russia on the terms of oil supplies to the republic, instructed the government to work out alternative supply options. In particular, earlier, the president, by his decree, authorized the government of the republic to negotiate with Kazakhstan regarding a draft agreement on oil supplies.

Contracts for the supply of Russian oil to Belarus ended on December 31, 2019. Since then, the parties have been negotiating for their extension. On January 4, oil supplies to Belarus were resumed by the companies controlled by Russian businessman Mikhail Gutseriev, Russneft and Neftis. The first batch of Norwegian oil was delivered to Naftan on January 26.
