OREANDA-NEWSGazprom will pay Naftogaz, the Ukrainian state-owned company, for the transit of Russian gas to Europe in 2020 at least 2% more than in the previous one. This follows from the draft agreement between the companies. The contract itself, designed for the next five years, until 2024, was concluded at the end of 2019.

The total volume of gas transit for the next five years will be 225 billion cubic meters: 65 billion cubic meters m in 2020 and 40 billion cubic meters in 2021–2024. The tariff for pumping these volumes was not disclosed.

According to the draft five-year agreement, the cost of pumping Russian gas to Europe through the gas transmission system (GTS) of Ukraine will be $ 31.72 per 1 thousand cubic meters, including all taxes and fees. The tariff is calculated at a rate of $ 2.66 per 1 thousand cubic meters per 100 km and based on the length of the GTS 1,192.48 km.

With transit 225 billion cubic meters in five years, Naftogaz will be able to earn at least $ 7.13 billion. The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky gave a similar forecast at the end of 2019: then he said that the Ukrainian side would receive more than $ 7 billion from the new contract with Gazprom in five years.
