OREANDA-NEWS The resident of the free port of Vladivostok, the company "Transport systems" and the contractor of the French company RBL-REI SA will build a 28-kilometer coal transportation line in the Uglegorsk district on Sakhalin by 2021. Construction work will begin at the end of 2019, the press service of the government of the Sakhalin region told journalists on Monday.

"The longest 28-kilometer coal conveyor in Russia will be built on the territory of the Uglegorsk district. It will connect the Solntsevo section and the seaport of Shakhtersk, the development and prospects of which are directly related to plans to increase coal production and its export to the countries of the Asia - Pacific region. The launch of the line will increase the volume of coal transportation from the cut to the port from 7.5 million tons by the end of 2018 to 20 million tons in the future. The project has already been supported by the Federal and regional authorities," the press service quotes the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern mining company (investor of the project) Oleg Misevra.

According to the government of the region, the production of conveyor equipment will begin in May 2019, construction work will begin at the end of the year. The construction of the facility is planned to be completed in 2021. The total amount of expenses is estimated at 7.8 billion rubles. It is noted that the main coal conveyor will become one of the most modern not only in Russia but also in the world.

The "Eastern mining company" said that due to the planned increase in the volume of coal in the port itself, the strengthening of the berthing and shipping infrastructure is being carried out. Instead of one ship-loading machine, two with the highest productivity in the Far East have already been installed on the berth.
