OREANDA-NEWS. The Minister of State Assets of Poland, Janusz Kowalski in an interview with Wprost newspaper suggested arresting the assets of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline for the forced collection of funds from Gazprom by decision of the Stockholm arbitration court.

In a dispute between the Russian corporation Gazprom and the Polish oil and gas concern PGNiG, the judges sided with the latter and admitted that under the Yamal contract the Polish company overpaid for gas. The court demanded the return of the amount of overpayments for all past years of work under the contract, and also demanded the adoption of a new pricing formula when working under the contract.

To recover this money and force Gazprom to change prices, Kowalski proposed to arrest the assets of a Russian company in the European Union.
