OREANDA-NEWS. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called on Europe and Germany to completely abandon the project Nord Stream 2 in light of the situation around poisoning of Aleksey Navalny. This is stated in his article published in the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

“We should not raise a threatening finger to Russia from afar and eventually get involved… in the project Nord Stream 2,” Morawietski wrote. He believes that the construction of this gas pipeline “undermines the EU’s energy policy from within.” “The only rational solution would be to transfer the Nord Stream 2 project to the archive,” the Polish Prime Minister resumed. He also expressed the opinion that the pipeline “has already cost too much for Europe.”

At the same time, Morawietski touched upon the events in Belarus, noting that, from his point of view, international isolation and non-recognition of the country’s leadership headed by President Alexander Lukashenko are not enough.
