OREANDA-NEWS. The Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection fined Russian energy corporation Gazprom 213 million zlotys (about 57 million US dollars) for failing to provide information as part of an investigation into construction of the gas pipeline Nord Stream 2.

“This is the result of a lack of cooperation in the proceedings that are being conducted in connection with the construction of the gas pipeline Nord Stream 2,” a statement published on the regulator’s website reads.

In January, the Polish antimonopoly regulator asked Gazprom for information to investigate the case of Nord Stream 2. Prior to this, the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection of Poland fined French company Engie 40.3 million euros for refusing to cooperate in this investigation. In June, a similar case was initiated against Gazprom.
