OREANDA-NEWSRussian President Vladimir Putin agreed with the transition to the development of a feasibility study and the beginning of design and survey work for the Power of Siberia-2 gas pipeline. He said this on Friday at a meeting with the head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller.

“A preliminary feasibility study was carried out, which gave a positive answer that it is feasible, cost-effective”, the head of state informed the head of state. “Accordingly, please give instructions for the transition to the pre-investment stage - the development of a feasibility study and the start of the project exploration work for the Power of Siberia-2 gas pipeline. Miller noted that gas supplies will be oriented to the Western China market.

Gazprom estimates the volume of possible gas supplies through the Power of Siberia-2 to China through Mongolia at 50 billion cubic meters per year, Miller said. Prior to this, the volume of deliveries was announced at 30 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
