OREANDA-NEWS. On December 23, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Dmitry Kozak, reported that Moscow and Kiev had agreed on a fixed price for gas transit for the next five years.

“We have agreed and fixed in the relevant protocols the size of Gazprom’s fees for the provision of these services, agent services for the transit and transportation of gas, which are stable and determined for all five years,” the politician said.

According to Kozak, information on direct gas supply contracts concluded with Ukraine, which has appeared in the media earlier, is not true. This issue will be resolved in 2020, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

All risks associated with tariff regulation were assumed by the Ukrainian side.

The head of Russian government, Dmitry Medvedev, commenting on the agreements, instructed the Cabinet to monitor their implementation. According to him, “this is the compromise that needed to be found.”
