OREANDA-NEWSRussian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has ordered $ 10 million to be allocated between 2020 and 2022 to the Green Climate Fund to help developing countries cope with the effects of global climate change. The corresponding document was published on Tuesday on the official Internet portal of legal information.

"In order to ensure the participation of the Russian Federation in international efforts to assist developing countries in overcoming the effects of global climate change, in 2020-2022 they pay the Russian Federation through the budget allocations from the federal budget for a voluntary earmarked contribution to the budget of the Green Climate Fund established by the United Nations Framework Convention on climate change, in the amount of up to $ 10 million, of which: up to $ 4 million in 2020, up to $ 3 million in 2021, up to $ 3 million in 2022", the order says.

The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation has been instructed to ensure funding from the budget allocation from the federal budget under the subsection "International Relations and International Cooperation" of the section "National Issues".
