OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian side is not going to limit gas supplies to Belarus. This was announced on June 17 by Russian Ambassador to the Republic Dmitry Mezentsev.

“According to today’s data from the Ministry of Energy of Russia, there is no reason to think that from some day in June or July, or even at all, the supply of Russian gas to Belarus can be limited or cut off,” the diplomat said, commenting on reports appearing on Telegram channels that the company Gazprom will block the supply of fuel to Belarus from July 1 because of Minsk’s debt to the corporation.

Mezentsev said it is better to trust official information, rather than the thoughts of “those analysts who do not always have reliable information.” He drew attention to the fact that today gas supplies are carried out in accordance with the agreement that was signed with the Belarusian side, and this year a gas price of 127 US dollars per thousand cubic meters was agreed. “The Russian Federation is ready for negotiations on the price of gas in 2021,” the Ambassador added.

The Ministry of Energy of Belarus also reported that it did not receive notifications from Gazprom about the cessation of gas supplies.
