OREANDA-NEWS. Gasoline prices in Russia will not rise in the near future, Grigory Bazhenov, head of the Independent Fuel Union analytical center, assured in a conversation with Radio 1. There is nothing strange in the fact that from April 30 to May 6, according to Rosstat, fuel prices fell in 22 regions, he believes.

The fact is that export deliveries are difficult, stocks are accumulating, they need to be disposed of in order to continuously support the production process, and the supply on the market is growing. Wholesale prices are sagging, and there is an incentive for retail prices to decline. Everything is quite logical. So while prices will not rise, they will either remain at the same level or will decrease,” Bazhenov said.

He noted that throughout Russia, the cost of gasoline is not falling, and it is difficult to predict the situation, as regulatory and tax innovations will be introduced and rules will change.

On April 15, it was reported about a decrease in prices for gasoline and gas motor fuel in Buryatia. Since the beginning of the year, prices for AI-98 gasoline have fallen by 0.29 rubles per liter, or 0.4%. The cost of gas motor fuel decreased by 5.10 rubles per liter, or by 14.7%. Also, compared to last week, the price of gasoline AI-92, AI-95 and diesel fuel decreased.

On April 25, General Director of the Commodity Markets Analytics agency Mikhail Turukalov said that gas stations in Russia could start using discounts on gasoline to lure customers. Their owners may decide to take such a step because of the large-scale surplus of gasoline.
