OREANDA-NEWS. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic claimed that Belgrade is observing attempts to stop the building of the gas pipeline TurkStream in the territory of Bulgaria.

“The construction of TurkStream is ongoing, and one of its sections passes through Bulgaria. We are waiting when gas from the storage in Bulgaria will reach the Bulgarian border with Serbia, this is extremely important for us. But nowadays we feel a substantial pressure: there are attempts to stop even this project,” the politician said. Dacic also noted that attempts to put pressure on Belgrade “will remain unsuccessful”, and the Serbian side will continue to insist on the implementation of the project.

Earlier, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic expressed the hope that the country would receive the first gas from TurkStream by the end of the year 2020.
