OREANDA-NEWS  Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal, during a speech in the Ukrainian parliament, said that the "energy war" that Gazprom allegedly arranged for the commissioning of the Nord Stream — 2 pipeline led to an increase in gas prices, TASS reports.

According to him, this is an obvious fact, which is confirmed by the decrease in exports from the Russian side in comparison with previous years, and the refusal to reserve additional capacities of the Ukrainian gas transportation system.

Shmygal also added that the cost of gas for Ukrainians will not change until the end of the heating season. He noted that in general, the country is ready for the heating season.

Last week, members of the European Parliament sent a letter to the European Commission calling for an investigation into the actions of Gazprom, which allegedly led to an increase in gas prices in Europe.

Last week, the price of gas in Europe several times reached $950 per thousand cubic meters.
