OREANDA-NEWS  Shippers can earn about $ 1.6 million for transporting Russian oil by tanker from the port of Kozmino (Primorye) to China, which is about three times more than before the start of Russia's special operation in Ukraine, Bloomberg reported.

According to ship brokers, such profitable trading has become "commonplace" for shipowners from China, Turkey and Greece. As the agency explained, the military operation in Ukraine and the subsequent sanctions have led to the fact that fewer shipowners are willing to engage in the transportation of Russian oil, since some of them are afraid of damaging their reputation or violating sanctions.

Along with the Russian Sovcomflot, one of the most active companies engaged in the transportation of Russian oil is the Chinese Cosco Shipping Holdings, with reference to its own data and ship brokers, Bloomberg writes. In addition, Turkish Active Shipping & Management Ltd, BEKS Ship Management & Trading SA and Dynacom Tankers Management Ltd, as well as Greek companies Avin International Ltd and Estoril Navigation Ltd participate in the transportation

We are talking about the delivery of ESPO — a type of light low-sulfur oil produced in Eastern Siberia. According to ship brokers, the delivery of Russian oil on an aframax type tanker (such oil tankers are designed to transport crude oil and petroleum products in an unlimited navigation area, that is, they sail in the seas and oceans at a distance of more than 200 miles from the port), as a rule, takes about five days, which makes this route one of the most profitable in the world because of such a short travel time. In total, aframax can transport about 730 thousand barrels of oil.
