OREANDA-NEWS. The work of both branches of the gas pipeline Nord Stream is suspended from July 14 to 26 for regular maintenance.

This was reported by TASS news agency with reference to the data of the project operator Nord Stream AG. Interfax, citing information from European gas transmission operators, also reports that Nord Stream stopped on Tuesday morning to carry out planned preventive maintenance.

Earlier, the suspension of the gas pipeline from July 14 to 26 was announced by Nord Stream AG. “Regular inspections and maintenance of mechanical components and automation systems… are necessary to ensure the reliable, safe and efficient functioning of a dual pipeline,” Alexey Zaytsev, Managing Director of Nord Stream AG, said.

The company reported that the maintenance schedule was agreed with upstream and downstream partners. All work is carried out in compliance with the necessary precautions in connection with the epidemic of coronavirus infection.
