OREANDA-NEWS. Ukrainian companies UkrGasVydobuvannya, Ukrtatnafta and Ukrnafta demanded that the Ukrainian government increase duties on liquefied natural gas (LNG) and diesel fuel imported from Russia.

The entities submitted a joint application to the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture on the fact of “anti-competitive actions in the supply chain.” According to them, the share of Russian oil products due to subsidies in the LNG market reached 55 %, in the diesel fuel sector 47 %. At the same time, supplies from Belarus, Lithuania and Poland significantly reduced. “Ukrainian producers insist on compensation measures in the form of duties on subsidized imports at the rate of 8.46 %,” the report says.

In July 2019, the Ukrainian government introduced special duties on imports of Russian LNG and diesel fuel. From October 1, they amounted to 3 % and 4 %, respectively.
