OREANDA-NEWS. Sergiy Makogon, the Director General of the company “Ukrainian GTS Operator”, said that Kiev will receive 450 million US dollars less per year due to the launch of the TurkStream gas pipeline.

Answering journalists’ question about the possible losses of Ukraine, Makogon said that “this cannot be called loss, it is lost revenue.” “We simply won’t make that money,” he explained at a press conference.

On his Facebook page, Makogon  wrote that the opening of the gas pipeline will reduce the transit of fuel through Ukraine in 2020 by 15 billion cubic meters. “Gas transit through Ukraine in the Balkan direction from 01.01.2020 is carried out only for the needs of Romania and Moldova. Bulgaria, Turkey and other countries in this region no longer receive gas through Ukraine,” he explained.
