OREANDA-NEWS. The Crimean authorities are grateful to the authorities of Canada and Australia for expanding sanctions against the Russian Federation for free advertising of local beauty and attractions. This was announced on Tuesday, March 30, by the head of the Crimean Parliament Committee on tourism, resorts and sports Alexey Chernyak.

According to him, before the coronavirus pandemic, tourists from more than 150 countries visited the peninsula. And many foreigners learned about Crimea precisely because of the restrictive measures.

«Sanctions work like a boomerang effect. As soon as the borders are opened, foreigners will again go to Crimea to see with their own eyes the Crimean Bridge and other infrastructural, historical and natural beauties of the peninsula», Russian media «RIA Novosti» quotes the head of the committee.

Chernyak added, that Western countries should understand, that the dynamic development of the peninsula will not be stopped by the introduction of restrictive measures. Earlier it became known, that Canada imposed sanctions against two Russian and Ukrainian individuals, as well as against four enterprises in the Crimea. Also, sanctions were imposed by Australia. Four legal entities and one individual who were connected with the construction of the Crimean Bridge fell under the restrictive measures.
