OREANDA-NEWS In Russian pharmacies, the share of sales of cheap drugs is declining, while expensive drugs are gaining momentum. This was reported by Kommersant with reference to the report of the DSM Group.

Pharmacy chains are refusing cheap drugs because of low bonuses from their sales. So, from January to June 2019, sales of expensive drugs grew by almost 8%, and vice versa, sales of cheap drugs in the category from 150 to 500 rubles fell by 3.3%, in the category from 50 to 500 rubles - by 3%, in categories up to 50 rubles - by 7.1%.

At the same time, sales of low-cost drugs decreased for the first time in the last three years.

Pharmaceutical retailers believe that such changes are associated with inflation. But, as reported, the lack of low cost drugs in pharmacies is also associated with the reluctance of manufacturers to put such products on the shelves, especially if they are on the list of vital ones.

Currently, the share of drugs in pharmacies at a price above 500 rubles is only 9.1% (in money terms - 43% of all sales).
