OREANDA-NEWS. According to the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, at the beginning of 2021, a gambling zone will be built in the Crimean village of Katsiveli. Taxes from the activities of the gambling zone will go to local and federal budgets.

In October 2019, the government of the Russian Federation issued an order on the creation of a gambling zone "Gold Coast" in Crimea. The gambling zone will be opened in the former Fortuna sanatorium near Yalta.

The Yalta authorities presented a sketch of the project, while the territory where the Fortuna sanatorium is located was taken out of Yalta.

According to the head of Crimea, the sanctions imposed on Crimea will not scare away real players. The gambling zone will be able to attract wealthy tourists, including foreigners. These plans are reported by TASS.

A similar gambling zone was founded in Sochi almost five years ago. For comparison, the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone in Sochi, opened in 2016, was visited by 850 thousand people from 146 countries in the first two years of operation. The share of guests from foreign countries in 2018 was 16% of the total number of guests, which has already become 11% more than in the last year, 2017. For the convenience of foreign tourists, special tours to Sochi were organized and foreign charter flights were opened.

It is reported that the law on the creation of a gambling zone in Crimea was adopted in 2014. The regional budget will be able to receive up to 25 billion rubles from the activities of the gambling zone in a year.
