OREANDA-NEWS. Russia offered Turkey better conditions for selling its anti-missile systems than the United States. Such a statement was made by President of Turkey Rezhdep Erdogan on June 4 in front of journalists after a prayer in honor of the end of a long post, Uraza Bayram, the Turkish media reported. "The United States didn't make such a lucrative offer for Patriot complexes, which Russia did with its S-400", said the Turkish leader.

Erdogan also said that the deal for the purchase of anti-aircraft missile systems was made and not subject to revision. “We have an agreement, we have determination”, he said, confirming that Ankara doesn't intend to retreat. The president also recalled that Turkey will create a joint group with the US to discuss differences over the supply of Russian complexes to Ankara. On May 29, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that the delivery of the Russian S-400 air defense systems to Turkey is being carried out earlier than the originally planned deadlines, at the request of the Turkish side. The agreement provides for the supply of four C-400 divisions to Turkey, the contract amount is $ 2.5 billion.

Washington is against the deal. The US claims that Russian air defense systems cannot be integrated into the NATO system. At the same time, Washington is threatening Ankara with sanctions, including curtailing the production and supply program of F-35 fighters to Turkey. At the same time, instead of the C-400, the United States offers an ally to purchase more expensive American-made Patriot air defense systems.

Turkey participated in the program to create an F-35 fighter and ordered a hundred of these machines. The solemn transfer of the first airplane took place in June 2018, but he never left the United States.
