OREANDA-NEWS. German supermarket chain «Aldi» will start selling self-administered coronavirus tests in it's branches across Germany from March 6. A package of five tests will cost 25 euros, and one customer will be able to purchase only one package. Other German retail chains also announced the start of sales of similar tests.

Over the past day, according to the Robert Koch Institute, 11,912 cases of infections were recorded in Germany — 43 more than the day before. 359 people died from the effects of the infection. The total number of infections in Germany reached 2.47 million. 71,240 people died during the pandemic.

Over the past 7 days, 64.7 cases of infection were registered per 100,000 people, more than the day before (63.8). According to the decision of the federal and land authorities of March 3, the upper limit of this indicator is 100 cases.

At the same time, the French authorities today, March 4, announce another tightening of restrictions in the regions, where new strains of coronavirus lead to an increase in infections. Additional restrictions may be imposed in Paris and the Moselle department on the border with Germany. In some regions of France, it may be forbidden to leave the house on weekends.
