OREANDA-NEWS Statistics of the smartphone market in the second quarter of 2019 indicates a decline in sales of smartphones relative to the same period last year. In April-June of the current year almost 332 million smartphones were sold in the world. This is about two percent lower than the level of sales in the second quarter of 2018.

The leader in the global smartphone market is still Samsung - in the period from April to June, the Korean corporation shipped 76.9 million smartphones. The share of the company, respectively, was 23.2 percent.

Huawei, despite the US sanctions, ranked the second place with 58.8 million shipped smartphones. Huawei's share is 17.7 percent. In the next quarter, by the way, Huawei’s position may subside - the trade war between China and the United States will still affect sales.

Third place went to the American corporation Apple. The company sold thirty-six million smartphones, thereby securing an almost 11 percent market share.
