OREANDA-NEWS. McDonald's has announced that it has decided to permanently withdraw from Russia, reports Reuters. The company's business in Russia will be sold. The company closed its restaurants, Oko 850, across Russia on March 14, including the very first one that opened in 1990 on Bolshaya Bronnaya in Moscow. The company, according to her, stopped its activities in Russia due to the situation in Ukraine.

The humanitarian crisis provoked by the situation in Ukraine, as well as unpredictable developments, led us to the conclusion that further business in Russia is inappropriate, the company said in a statement.

Earlier, nutritionist Alexei Kovalkov said that the more often people eat fast food, the more stress this food will cause. According to him, the departure of McDonald's and Coca-Cola from Russia is a huge success for Russian nutrition.

State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said earlier that after McDonald's and other companies using Russian raw materials left the Russian Federation, a domestic network should appear in their place and jobs should be preserved. If domestic grid companies do not replace foreign ones, then the state will take this place. At the same time, the jobs of the former McDonald's should be preserved, and prices reduced.
