OREANDA-NEWS. Next year, Moscow will become the first city in the post-Soviet space where restaurants will begin to receive Michelin stars.

By October 2021, a selection of the first Michelin guide to Moscow restaurants will be prepared. This was announced by the international director of the company Gwendal Pullenek.

The Russian capital will appear in the new Michelin collection soon. This ranking is the most famous and influential of the world's gastronomic rankings. It has been produced since 1900.

Pullenek noted that he received a warm welcome in the capital, for which he is grateful, TASS reports.

Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has already announced the appearance of the Michelin Guide in the city. According to the statesman, this rating will open the capital in a new way both for tourists and for Muscovites themselves.

Sobyanin noted that the gastronomy of the capital has become a real point of attraction for tourists. Moscow restaurants are among the best in the world ratings.

The mayor of the capital believes that the appearance of the Michelin Guide will open up the city in a new way for both tourists and residents of the city. Also, the desire to receive a prestigious star will be an additional incentive for the restaurant business, especially after the coronavirus pandemic, Sobyanin said.
