OREANDA-NEWS. The popular European beach resort Madeira has announced the opening of borders to all tourists, including Russians. This information appeared on the website of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

Madeira is said to be the first region in Portugal to open a green corridor to all foreign travelers.

To enter the country, you will need a negative PCR test, done no earlier than 72 hours before the trip. It is clarified that this rule also applies to vaccinated Russians, since the Sputnik V vaccine has not yet been certified by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

In addition, before arrival, all passengers are required to fill out a special form on the electronic platform 12-48 hours before boarding the plane. It is noted that such a measure will allow tracing possible human contacts in the event of a coronavirus infection during a trip.

However, now it is impossible to get to the archipelago directly from Russia, since air traffic between the countries has not been officially resumed. The portal's experts explained that if earlier it was possible to fly to Madeira from Moscow with a transfer in Lisbon, then at the moment the continental part of Portugal is closed to foreign tourists. Because of this, the route to the island will have to be built through third countries, for example, through Germany.
