OREANDA-NEWS.Last month, the company abandoned the use of natural fur, and now launched the Re-Nylon project, which is for Prada "another step towards sustainable development," according to a press release.

The bags of the new line will be the result of cooperation between Prada and Aquafil, which produces Econyl – nylon fiber created from ocean-collected waste, such as fishing net, or plastic intended for disposal, as well as remnants of textile fibers of old carpets that can be recycled.

Prada stressed that the company's goal is to make all of its clothing and accessories, created from classic nylon, began to be created from Econyl by 2021.

Sustainable development in the luxury industry is rapidly gaining popularity in the fashion world and several luxury brands are already using recycled plastic nylon, such as the Stella McCartney fashion house or the Adidas sports brand.
