OREANDA-NEWS. According to the portal OneTwoTrip, most Russians think traditionally about celebrating the New Year and prefer to celebrate their favorite holiday at home, with their families. This answer was given by 54% of the surveyed citizens.

Despite this, there is an unexpectedly large number of those who dream of going abroad on the main night of the year and subsequent vacations. 25% of respondents would dream of leaving cold Russia for warm countries for the New Year holidays. In other words, every fourth respondent shared such a desire. At the same time, 7% of citizens would like to be on New Year's days by the warm sea or ocean. And 6% of the respondents would be quite satisfied with some Russian resort. Another 6% of the respondents dream of a cozy secluded house in the mountains for the holidays, and another 2% want to get into a "real winter fairy tale" for the New Year. Although, of course, the majority of people will go abroad to celebrate the New Year this year, this dream will remain a dream, because Russia's borders with most countries are still closed.

The Russians also named cities and resorts in Russia where they would gladly be on December 31 to celebrate the New Year. Among the popular cities were named Moscow, Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana, the Dombai ski resort in the Caucasus and snowy Karelia. Oddly enough, this list did not include the official residence of Santa Claus - the town of Veliky Ustyug, Vologda Oblast.
