SmartMetric Reports 80% Of Credit Card Holders Are Concerned About Card Fraud
OREANDA-NEWS. May 14, 2018. SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCQB:SMME) – Security for credit card users is the single biggest issue uppermost in their minds. SmartMetric contracted an independent research company that surveyed Visa Credit Card holders in the United States. 80 percent of the surveyed Visa credit card holders said that they were concerned about credit card fraud and identity theft.
Another independent consumer research commissioned by TSYS, ranked 74 percent ranked security and fraud protection as their number one priority. Only 26 percent of the same consumers ranked transaction rewards attached to their card as being important.

"This research is in line with our own independently commissioned research which shows 80% of a major brands credit card holders are concerned with credit card and identity fraud," said today SmartMetric’s President and CEO, Chaya Hendrick.
SmartMetric has developed a fingerprint biometric credit card that uses the cardholders fingerprint to unlock the card as they insert the card into a retail point of sale card reader or ATM. There are now over 6 Billion chip cards issued globally. The SmartMetric fingerprint in-the-card biometric fingerprint scanner is built to work with existing banking chip card payments infrastructure without the need of equipment or backend systems change.
One of the features of the biometric card developed by SmartMetric is that it has a rechargeable battery inside which in turn allows the card to be used at both standard retail card readers as well as ATM’s. This is an important product feature since while many credit card users may infrequently use their credit card in an ATM being able to do so is important for card customers. Discussions with leading card issuing banks has confirmed that they would not be happy issuing a credit card that did not allow their customers to be able to use it in an ATM if they chose to, said Chaya Hendrick.
