OREANDA-NEWS. The Bangkok Post reported that Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, allowed that a plan to restart the tourism industry named Safe and Sealed will be launched on Phuket by October 1.

This project implies that only tourists from cities, where no new cases of COVID-19 were recorded during the previous month, will receive admission to resorts. In this case, the trip itself must be organized strictly within the framework of a certain tour. In addition, tourists will be required to present insurance policy and negative coronavirus test result. According to the Minister, one of the possible solutions is the separation of 1–2 kilometres of beaches around the quarantine hotels. In these territories, vacationers would be able easily move around during their two-week isolation.

The plan is expected to be reviewed at a joint meeting with the ministers of health, transport, interior and foreign affairs on August 27.
