OREANDA-NEWS. Thailand has temporarily closed all previously accessible provinces for foreign tourists, with the exception of Phuket, and the authorities are considering the introduction of mandatory quarantine for visitors. However, this situation will not affect the rest of tourists from Russia, the press service of the tour operator Tez Tour told the Interfax.

As noted by the general representative of the tour operator in Southeast Asia, Andrey Snetkov, the Thai Foreign Ministry announced the temporary closure of registration for obtaining a Thailand Pass as part of the entry schemes Test & Go and Sandbox, with the exception of the «Phuket Sandbox». The Minister of Health of the country Anutin Charnvirakul announced the possible suspension of the program and the resumption of quarantine for arrivals.

«Since the absolute majority of Russian-speaking tourists arrive on vacation under the «Phuket Sandbox» program, the changes that have taken place will not have any effect on the tourist flow from Russia. Moreover, there has been no official confirmation of the return of mandatory quarantine for all travelers at the moment», the expert stressed.

Earlier it was reported about the statement of the vice-president of the Russian Union of the Travel Industry about which options for New Year's holidays abroad will be the cheapest for Russians in the 2021-2022 season. He added Mexico, Cuba and Qatar to the popular resorts of Turkey and the Dominican Republic.
