Russian Politician Proposed to Stop Selling Vouchers to Foreign Resorts
OREANDA-NEWS. LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky spoke in favor of stopping the sale of tours to resorts outside the Russian Federation. In his opinion, it is safer for Russians to rest in Russian resorts - in the Crimea and Sochi.
The politician said on the air of the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio: "You can't go to foreign resorts anymore. The whole infection is there."
Commenting on the closure of flights with Turkey, Zhirinovsky explained that people from all over the world come to the resorts of this country and "import" not only the usual coronavirus, but also its dangerous varieties - British and South African strains.
According to the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, the south of Russia is able to accept everyone who wants to relax by the sea. However, he stressed that tourists should be vaccinated against COVID-19. Otherwise, Russia will again face an increase in the incidence.
Russia has limited air traffic with Turkey since April 15. As previously reported, experts in the tourism industry called it unlikely to resume on June 1. 60 thousand people are infected with coronavirus in the country every day. Until this figure is reduced several times, Russians will not be allowed to the republic's resorts, they believe.
