OREANDA-NEWS. The rate of launching new projects for shared - equity construction of multi-apartment housing in Russia for the third quarter of 2020 increased by 37% - to 7.7 million square meters against 5.6 million in the second quarter, according to the housing market survey prepared by Dom.rf.

According to the company, the growth in new projects reflects the overall recovery of the housing market after the slowdown that occurred in the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences.

There is also a significant contribution of the state program of preferential mortgages for new buildings. However, the results of the third quarter are 6% lower than the results of the same period last year, when the volume of new shared-equity construction projects amounted to 8.2 million square meters.

In General, as of October 1, 98.9 million square meters of multi-apartment housing (almost 9.4 thousand houses) are being built in Russia with shared participation. And almost half (48%) – in 15 cities with a population of millions, the survey indicates. According to "the House.Russia", the top ten developers account for 20% of all areas under construction. During the quarter, the total construction volume decreased by about 500 thousand "squares" (-145 houses).
